AWS K12 Cyber Grant Program

Improve cyber resilience for return to school and throughout the academic year.

AWS launches $20 million K12 Cyber Grant Program

Annual cyberattacks on K12 schools jumped from 400 to 1,300 over a three-year period. The U.S. government predicts that the threat level will increase. K12 school districts continue to integrate education technology into classrooms to improve learning environments to support their core mission. It’s critical for schools to address growing cybersecurity challenges. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is here to help the K12 community enhance cybersecurity. K-12 networks must protect against cyber intrusions, ransomware attacks, and data breaches.

To help schools across the nation implement cloud-based cybersecurity solutions, AWS is investing $20 million in AWS promotional credits to new and existing AWS customers. Read the AWS press release.

Grant awards will take into consideration

  • the size of the school district, state department of education, or regional education agency,
  • the number of students served,
  • and the scope of the proposed AWS solution(s).

Whether you’re following the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) guidelines, AWS’s offerings can enable our K12 customers to meet their unique security needs.

Application process

If you are awarded AWS Promotional Credit for no-cost usage of applicable AWS services, the AWS Promotional Credit will be valid for one year from the time AWS Promotional Credit is applied to the account or until the credit has been fully utilized.
